Cynthia Hartz, DVM
The Founder and President of Animal Medical Center Inc., Dr. Hartz, received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 1984. She worked in a private practice for five years before founding Animal Medical Center in 1989. Dr. Hartz lives in Royersford with her husband, Doug. The Hartz family includes a Labrador Retriever named Turbo, a Dachshund named Minimum, a cat named Jack, a parrotlet named Mike, and a Butter Longhaired Dachshund. Outside of work, Dr. Hartz enjoys hiking with her dogs, swimming, and reading. Dr. Hartz is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), Association of Avian Veterinarians, American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), and Delaware Valley Academy of Veterinary Medicine. She is also a member of Valley Forge Baptist Temple.

Ashley Klein, VMD
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Klein grew up in Clinton, NJ, with her two brothers and Jack Russell Terrier, Sasha. After working at the Woodlands Wildlife Refuge in Pittstown, it became clear that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She attended the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Animal Sciences. Dr. Klein went on to obtain a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania.
At home, Dr. Klein has a dog, Daisy, and three cats — Lindy, Hobbes, and Graycie. She enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Klein is passionate about Internal Medicine and Dermatology. She strives to make sure owners can leave the hospital with a clear understanding of their pet’s health plan. Dr. Klein is Fear Free certified and uses techniques from her training to make each visit less stressful for both owner and pet. By working together as a team, Dr. Klein looks forward to ensuring a longer and healthier life for your pet.

Angelique Truitt, DVM
Dr. Angelique Truitt attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at the University of Illinois. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She completed her undergraduate studies at Delaware Valley College, majoring in biology and pre-veterinary animal sciences. Her areas of interest include exotic mammals (pocket pets), avians, and small ruminants, as well as canine and feline ophthalmology, internal medicine, and hospice/palliative care.
Dr. Truitt has always been an advocate for agriculture and animals and enjoys farming. She currently lives on a historic 1800s farm, where she raises a multitude of Jacob sheep, goats, miniature cattle, donkeys, horses, and poultry. Dr. Truitt loves riding and showing her horses, as well as trail riding with friends. She can be seen hanging around her farm with her husband and new baby boy, Tristan, along with their menagerie of animals when not practicing veterinary medicine. At the end of the day, she is loved and greeted by her devoted Great Dane, Heeler, Dachshund, and cats.

Nathan Truitt, DVM
Dr. Nathan Truitt hails from Lancaster County and has always been surrounded by animals from a young age, growing up and tending to animals on his family’s farm. He attended Delaware Valley College earning his BS in Small Animal Science with a minor in Physics.
Following his undergraduate career, he attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, an accelerated program on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. While on the island Dr. Truitt led many non-profit organizations helping underprivilege areas with free veterinary care. Upon finishing his didactic schooling Dr. Truitt attended The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine for his final clinical year.
Dr. Nate’s areas of interest in veterinary medicine include canine and feline surgery, cardiology and neurology. In his free time Dr. Nathan Truitt enjoys working with his tractor on his farm, riding his horse Bruce as well as golfing and bowling. Dr. Nathan Truitt is also an avid outdoorsman. Dr. Truitt is very proud of his new baby boy, Tristan, and loves spending time with him and his wife.

Maddy
Practice Manager
Maddy joined Animal Medical Center in February 2020 as a Client Care Specialist. She since has worked her way through every department of the hospital learning new skills, running appointments, learning phlebotomy, working the lab machines and more. Maddy was promoted to Team Lead in 2024 and then Practice Manager in 2025. She is very passionate about making AMC the best it can be while providing gold standard care to our patients and building relationships with clients. She received an associate’s Degree in Business Management from Lock Haven University.
In her spare time, she likes photography, going camping, kayaking, fishing, and being outdoors. She has had a love and passion for animals since she was a little girl. Maddy also loves spending time with her family, two-legged and four-legged!
Sue
Veterinary Nurse
Sue joined Animal Medical Center in November 1999 as an exam room assistant. Sue has learned all aspects of outpatient and inpatient care and is a valuable resource to AMC. Sue’s animal family includes four dogs: two Terriers from Puerto Rico named Potter and Weasley, a Terrier mix named Granger, and a German Shepherd mix named Logan. Sue also has two cockatiels named Nell and Sophie, a parrotlet named Stuart, and five rats named Brie, Gouda, Swiss, Ritz, and Tray. In her free time, Sue enjoys golfing, playing softball, swimming, going to the gym, listening to music, going to the movies, traveling, and doing projects around the house.

Ken
Veterinary Nurse
Ken joined Animal Medical Center in August 2012 as a Veterinary Assistant. He attended Manor Junior College, majoring in the Veterinary Technology program. Prior to joining Animal Medical Center, Ken worked as a Pharmaceutical/Veterinary Technician for over 14 years at an animal hospital in Chester County. Ken lives with his wife, Trish, and two sons. His animal family includes four Boston Terriers, Rossie, Opal, Ruby, and Izzy, and a chihuahua, Ramsey. In his spare time, Ken enjoys restoring his old farmhouse, working on classic cars, visiting the mountains and seashore, and spending time with his family and pets.

Tyra
Veterinary Nurse
Tyra joined the AMC staff as a Veterinary Nurse in 2021. She had recently worked as a tech assistant, as well as an associate at a Pet Health Store and bakery. She shares her home with her dog, Louie, her son, Waylon, and her husband, Noah. Some of her hobbies and interests include hiking with Louie.
Emma
Veterinary Nurse
Emma joined our team in the Spring of 2022. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Science from Harcum College. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking. In the near future, she hopes to begin volunteering at a local shelter or wildlife sanctuary.
Amanda
Amanda began her journey at AMC in 2023. At home, she shares her life with her husband and son. She has a horse, two dogs, three cats, and a snake. She’s a strong advocate for animal rescue and believes every pet deserves a second chance and a loving home.
In addition to her role in the clinic, she manages our social media. She is also currently attending Penn Foster to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).

Alicia
Alicia joined us at AMC in October of 2024. She has been in the veterinary field for 20 years and has worked within multiple areas of veterinary medicine including emergency and inpatient nursing. She has also worked and volunteered with different rescues and continues to volunteer monthly at a clinic helping with spay and neuter the feral cat population. When Alicia is not enjoying working with animals, she enjoys a cup of coffee and a good book as well as camping trips with her husband, son, and 2 dogs Snoopy and Kassie.

Tracey
Client Care Specialist
Tracey joined the team at Animal Medical Center in the fall of 2021. He entered the veterinary field because he adores animals and wants to be an active part of their support in this world. In his spare time, Tracey likes to hike with his family, which includes his husband Ron and two dogs, Gemma (Boston Terrier) and Baer (Shih Tzu). He also enjoys traveling and restoring antique dolls.
Melinda
Client Care Specialist
Melinda joined Animal Medical Center in 2016 as a CCS. She graduated from Pace University in NY with a Bachelor of Accounting. Melinda lives with her husband, Jim, and their three sons, David, Alexander, and Michael. They have four cats: Gus, Gordie, Luna, and Ginger. She enjoys camping with her family at Assateague with the wild ponies, reading, and making wine charms.
